As an Australian-born Turk, coffee has always been deeply ingrained in my life. Growing up, it was a daily ritual. My father, in particular, was a coffee enthusiast. From his early morning brew to the post-dinner Turkish coffee, these moments were more than just beverage preparation; they were precious bonding times between a father and son.

Coffee, for me, transcends its role as a mere drink. It's a catalyst for connection, a medium through which friends and family gather to share stories, just like our ancestors did. Living in Melbourne, a city renowned for its vibrant coffee culture, has only deepened my appreciation for this beloved beverage.

Kahve Lab is my vessel, my journey to explore the vast and fascinating world of coffee. There’s still so much to discover.

You might be wondering, “What does architecture have to do with coffee?” Well, in the design world, coffee isn’t just a drink—it’s the lifeblood. It’s the fuel that keeps creativity flowing. Let’s be honest, who hasn’t spent long hours working on their creation with an espresso by their side?

With my background in architecture, I’d like to think I’ve brought a touch of minimalism and simplicity to Kahve Lab’s branding. Imagine clean lines, bold aesthetics, and, of course, lots of coffee. I'm heavily engaged in photography, content editing, and maintaining a consistent vibe for our online presence.

But honestly, the best part of being a director at Kahve Lab is the team. We’re a group of coffee-obsessed collaborators from diverse career backgrounds, all united by a shared passion for the craft.

As someone with a background in accounting and finance, I’ve always been drawn to numbers and strategy. However, after years in the corporate world, I found myself yearning for a more fulfilling venture. My partners and I share a deep appreciation for coffee—not just as a beverage, but as a magical potion that brings people together.

We realised that the coffee industry offered a unique blend of creativity, culture, and we wanted to create an identity that reflects our passion. By starting our own roastery, we aim to not only provide high-quality, ethically sourced coffee but also to foster connections and build a welcoming environment. This journey allows me to leverage my analytical skills in a new way, while indulging in the artistry of coffee roasting and cultivating relationships with our customers. Together, we’re excited to share our love for coffee and create something meaningful in our community.
